Black Friday Corner Sofa Beds: What to Check Before You Buy
By Alex at SOFGO ·

A corner sofa bed is three things at once: a sofa, a spare bed and somewhere to put the bedding. That makes it one of the best-value pieces of furniture you can buy, and one of the easiest to get wrong in a hurry. Black Friday adds a ticking clock to a decision that really rewards a few careful measurements.
This guide covers what to check on any corner sofa bed before you buy, whatever the price says. For the general checklist for any sofa, see our Black Friday sofa checklist. We're not quoting any Black Friday prices: the prices below are the ones on our product pages when we wrote this, and the price that counts is the one on the page on the day you order.
Size, hand and access
Start with the three checks that decide whether the sofa will work in your room at all.
- The footprint. A corner sofa bed has two measurements that matter: the overall width and the overall depth, which is where the chaise reaches. Mark both on the floor with masking tape. Our guide to measuring a room for a corner sofa walks you through it.
- The bed, open. Measure the floor space in front of the sofa for when the bed is pulled out, not just for when it's a sofa. Allow room to walk round it.
- Left or right hand. Stand facing where the sofa will go. If the long chaise section should be on your left, you need a left-hand corner; on your right, a right-hand corner. Some SOFGO models let you choose the side on the product page at the same price, such as the Fairhaven M84 (£1,199) and the Goldcrest K19 (£799). Others are sold as one side only, with "Left Corner Only" or "Right Corner Only" in the name. Our guide to left or right hand corner sofas explains more.
- The way in. Measure every door, hallway turn and staircase between the van and the room. Our guides to whether a corner sofa will fit through your door and getting a sofa up narrow stairs show what to measure.
Always go by the dimensions listed on the product page, not by how big a sofa looks in a styled room photo.

Bed and storage specs
"Sofa bed with storage" covers a lot of different designs, so read the features list rather than assuming.
- How the bed opens. Many of our corner sofa beds list a click-clack mechanism with a pull-out sleeping area. Our guide to click-clack, pull-out and electric sofa beds explains the differences and what each is like to use every day.
- Who will sleep on it. Look for the sleeping area on the product page. The Fairhaven M84, for example, lists a sleeping area of 123 × 193 cm. Many pages describe it as "a pull-out sleeping area for two adults"; if your guests are tall, ask for the measurement.
- Where the storage is, and how big. Some pages list a full-width storage compartment under the seat; the U Shape Goldcrest (£999) lists two storage compartments under the seat bases. Where a page gives the storage size, as the Lindorf X100 does (80 × 77 × 18 cm), compare it with what you want to keep in there. Our guide to what fits in a storage chaise has some useful benchmarks.
In stock vs made to order
This is the check most likely to matter in late November. At SOFGO there are two broad groups:
- In stock. Pieces we already hold in stock, including clearance. Each product page shows its own delivery window.
- Corner sofa beds with storage made to order. A much wider choice of ranges, colours and corner sides, with a usually longer window shown on each product page.
Neither is better in itself. If you're working to a fixed date, in-stock is usually the simpler route; if you want a particular colour or side, made to order gives you more choice. Either way, read the delivery window on the product page, check it again at checkout, and message us first if you're working to a deadline. Our guide to ordering a sofa for Christmas goes through the timing.
Delivery and assembly included?
A corner sofa bed is heavy and arrives in more than one piece, so what's included matters.
- Delivery. At SOFGO, delivery is free to most of mainland UK, and our charges are per order, not per item. Some postcode areas (AB, DD, EX, FK, IV, KY, PH, PL, SA, TQ and TR) carry a £149 charge per order. We don't deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, Caithness and the far north of Scotland (KW postcodes), the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Isles of Scilly. The delivery page has the full list.
- Upstairs rooms. Rooms on the 1st to 4th floor without a lift add £49 per order, and the 5th to 12th floor add £199. This applies to upstairs rooms in houses as well as flats. The ground floor, or any floor with a lift, is free.
- Assembly. You can choose doorstep delivery, or free assembly in the room of your choice, where we carry it in, build it and take the packaging away. For a corner sofa bed, room-of-choice assembly saves a lot of lifting.
We text you a delivery date and a two-hour window. Our guide to what to expect on delivery day covers the visit itself.
Payment and returns
Check the "Ways to pay" box on each product page, because it isn't the same for every product.
- Debit or credit card is listed for every product in this guide.
- Klarna or Clearpay let you spread the cost at checkout, subject to eligibility and status. Some products offer Klarna but not Clearpay: the Lindorf X100, Mistral M29 and Orrino Mini pages list Klarna only. Paying with Klarna or Clearpay is borrowing, so make sure the repayments suit your budget.
- Pay on delivery (cash or bank transfer when your order arrives) is shown on some in-stock products, including every product in this guide. Check that it's listed before you rely on it.
On returns, the same terms apply all year at SOFGO. You have 14 days to change your mind, starting the day after delivery, and you can cancel at any time before delivery. Standard colours, fabrics and sizes from our range aren't treated as personalised goods, even when an item is made to order. Our returns page has the full terms, including who pays for collection.

Our clearance range
Our in-stock range is where to start if you'd like a corner sofa bed without a long wait. A few examples, at the prices on their product pages when we checked:
- Verity M84, £779. A compact option, listed at 222 cm wide and 133 cm deep, with a choice of left or right corner.
- Goldcrest K19, £799. Listed at 260 cm wide with a 150 cm chaise, and a choice of corner side.
- U Shape Goldcrest, £999. A U-shaped design with a deep chaise at each end, listed at 352 cm wide and 152 cm deep, for larger rooms.
- Fairhaven M84, £1,199. Listed at 275 × 205 × 87 cm, with a choice of corner side and a listed sleeping area of 123 × 193 cm.
- Orrino Mini B03/S33 and Mistral M29, both £1,299. Both are sold as right-hand corners only.
Each can be ordered in Easy Clean fabric, a water and pet resistant weave, as a fixed £199 upgrade (is Easy Clean worth it?). For a lower budget, see our round-up of corner sofa beds with storage under £1,000. In-stock pieces sell through and prices can change, so check the product page on the day you order.
FAQs
Are corner sofa beds cheaper on Black Friday?
Sometimes, but a lower headline price isn't the whole picture. Add any delivery charge for your postcode or floor, any fabric upgrade and the cost of removing your old sofa, then compare. The price that counts is the one on the product page on the day you order.
What should I check before buying a corner sofa bed on Black Friday?
The overall width and depth against your room, the space needed with the bed open, the corner side, your doors and stairs, the sleeping area and storage, the delivery window on the product page, the ways to pay and the returns terms.
How do I know if I need a left or right hand corner sofa bed?
Stand facing where the sofa will go. If the long chaise should be on your left, choose a left-hand corner; on your right, a right-hand corner. Some product pages let you choose the side, while others are sold as one side only.
Is an in-stock corner sofa bed a better buy than made to order?
Not necessarily. In-stock pieces suit fixed dates, and made-to-order gives you more choice of range, colour and corner side. Check the delivery window on each product page before you decide.
Is delivery and assembly included?
At SOFGO, delivery is free to most of mainland UK, and assembly in the room of your choice is free, with the packaging taken away. Some postcode areas carry a £149 charge, and upstairs rooms without a lift cost £49 for the 1st to 4th floor (in houses as well as flats). See the delivery page for the full list.
Can I return a corner sofa bed bought in a sale?
Yes. At SOFGO you have 14 days to change your mind, starting the day after delivery, and you can cancel at any time before delivery. The same terms apply all year. See our returns page.
