Black Friday is when many people look for a sofa that will not stretch the household budget. The hard part is making sure a keen number still looks sensible once delivery, room size and payment are included.

This guide covers black friday sofa deals uk shopping without chasing a headline that does not hold up: setting a total budget, counting costs around the sofa, choosing In Stock versus made to order, getting the size right, and ways to pay. Set a total budget first

Start with what you can actually spend, not with what a sofa is marked at.

  1. Write a ceiling for the sofa itself, including any fabric upgrade you want.
  2. Add extras that are not optional for you: delivery for your postcode or floor, removing your old sofa, and bedding if it is a sofa bed.
  3. Decide what good value means at home. A compact corner sofa bed that sleeps guests and hides bedding can replace a spare-room bed. If your ceiling is under a thousand pounds, start with our corner sofa beds with storage under £1,000.

Delivery, assembly and removal costs

Extra delivery or removal costs can wipe out a keen sofa price.

  • Delivery to most of mainland UK is free at SOFGO, per order rather than per item.
  • Some postcode areas carry a £149 charge per order: AB, DD, EX, FK, IV, KY, PH, PL, SA, TQ and TR. See the delivery page.
  • We do not deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands (including Skye), Caithness and the far north of Scotland (KW postcodes), the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Isles of Scilly.
  • Upstairs without a lift: £49 per order for the 1st to 4th floor, £199 for the 5th to 12th. This applies to upstairs rooms in houses as well as flats. Ground floor, or any floor with a lift, is free.
  • Assembly. Choose doorstep delivery, or free assembly in the room of your choice (we carry it in, build it and take the packaging away).
  • Your old sofa. Packaging removal is not the same as taking the old sofa away — plan bulky-waste or a charity collection first.

In Stock Clearance vs made to order

On sofgo.co.uk the shop section is labelled In Stock (older "In Stock Clearance" links redirect there). Made-to-order pieces sit in ranges such as corner sofa beds with storage.

In Stock. The page marks the piece as In Stock and lists a delivery window. Live Standard prices are often the keenest on a given day — use the basket price on the product page. Many also offer pay on delivery alongside card, Klarna and Clearpay. Stock can sell through, so order while the page still shows the model you want.

Made to order. The page typically shows a longer window such as Delivery in 2–5 weeks, as on the Goldcrest Mini K31. You still get the listed price, free delivery to most of mainland UK, and free room-of-choice assembly where offered. Pay on delivery is less common (Goldcrest Mini K31 shows card, Klarna and Clearpay only). Useful when you need a particular corner side or fabric and can wait. Getting the right size first time

A sofa that does not fit is the costliest mistake on a budget.

  1. Measure the room for the closed footprint and, if it is a sofa bed, for the open bed. See how to measure a room for a corner sofa.
  2. Choose the corner side. Stand facing where the sofa will go: chaise on your left means a left-hand corner. See left or right hand corner sofa.

  4. Read the listed dimensions, not the photo.   • Debit or credit card. Listed under Ways to pay on SOFGO product pages.
  • Klarna or Clearpay let you spread the cost at checkout, subject to eligibility and status. That is borrowing, so check the repayments fit your budget. Some products offer Klarna but not Clearpay.
  • Pay on delivery (cash or bank transfer when the order arrives) appears on many In Stock pages, including the Linden Bay, Nessvale, Goldcrest K42, Hollingwood Mini and Mistral examples above. It does not appear on every made-to-order page.
