Small rooms make furniture work harder. A corner sofa bed with storage can give you a proper sofa, a spare bed and a cupboard's worth of hidden space in one footprint. That's why it's such a popular choice for flats, terraced front rooms and box-room snugs.

The catch is that "small" means different things to different retailers. This guide explains how to measure for one properly, walks through some typical small-room layouts, and compares the most compact corner sofa beds we sell.

What counts as a small corner sofa bed?

There's no official definition. For a typical UK living room, a useful working range is a corner sofa bed under about 235 cm wide and under about 170 cm deep. At SOFGO, that covers:

Sofa Price Listed size (W × D) Corner
Linden Bay M99 £779 213 × 132 cm Left or right
Verity M84 £779 222 × 133 cm Left or right
Goldcrest Mini M04 £699 235 × 150 cm Left or right
Fairhaven Mini M84 £1,299 230 × 170 cm Left or right
Orrino Mini B03/S33 £1,299 230 × 170 cm Right only
Hollingwood Mini M04 £1,299 230 × 170 cm Left only

Normal prices re-checked on the live product pages on 3 October 2026; sizes as checked on 25 September 2026.

Notice the two different shapes. Linden Bay and Verity are short and shallow: about 1.3 m deep, so they take up less floor. The Mini corners are short but deep: 170 cm, so the chaise reaches further into the room, but you get a 120 cm sofa-bed seat section. Which suits you depends on whether your room is tight on wall length or on floor depth.

Measure three things, not one

Most people measure the wall. For a corner sofa bed, you need three measurements.

1. The wall run

Measure the wall the back of the sofa will sit against, from the corner to the nearest obstacle. That might be a door frame, a radiator you don't want to cover, or a chimney breast. The sofa's overall width has to fit inside this, ideally with a few centimetres to spare so it isn't wedged in.

2. The depth into the room

Measure from the wall where the chaise will sit out into the room. Take away the sofa's overall depth, and what's left is your floor for walking, a coffee table and opening the bed. As a rough guide, aim to keep at least 60 cm clear for a walkway.

3. The open-bed footprint

This is the one people forget. When the bed is out, the seating section comes forward. Linden Bay's page lists its sleeping area as 168 × 132 cm, and the made-to-order Hollingwood Mini in i96 lists 123 × 195 cm. Where a page doesn't give an open size, email us with the sofa name and we'll confirm it. Then tape the open outline on the floor and check it clears the coffee table (or that the table can move), the door swing and the TV unit.

Worked examples for typical small rooms

These are illustrations, not rules. Your room's doors and radiators matter more than its overall size.

The alcove wall (about 240 cm between the corner and a door frame). Verity (222 cm) fits with around 18 cm to spare, and Linden Bay (213 cm) leaves nearly 30 cm. A 230 cm Mini corner would technically fit too, but only just. With a door frame next to it, the extra breathing room of a smaller model is worth having.

The shallow room (about 3 m from the back wall to the opposite wall). A 133 cm-deep Verity leaves roughly 1.67 m in front of the chaise. That's enough for a small coffee table and a clear route. A 170 cm-deep Mini corner leaves about 1.3 m, which still works, but you may need to move a coffee table out of the way when the bed is open.

The through-lounge with a door at each end. Put the open end of the sofa towards the busier door and keep the chaise away from the main route. Fixed-hand models (Orrino Mini is right only, Hollingwood Mini is left only) are only worth considering if their hand happens to match your room. Otherwise, choose a reversible model. Our left or right hand corner sofa guide covers this step by step.

Our most compact corner sofa beds

Linden Bay (£779) is the smallest corner sofa bed we list. It suits a flat or a narrow front room where every centimetre counts. It's reversible, has a full-width storage compartment and a pull-out sleeping area, and the page describes the fabric as tightly woven and pet-friendly.

Verity (£779) is only 9 cm wider, with a 91 cm-deep chaise and a serpentine spring base under the cushions. It's a good all-rounder if you want something compact that still feels like a proper sofa in the evening.

Goldcrest Mini (£699) comes from the made-to-order range, which means a wider choice of colours and a listed storage compartment of 130 × 90 × 41 cm. That's room for a double duvet, pillows and more. The product page shows the delivery window.

Fairhaven Mini, Orrino Mini and Hollingwood Mini (from £1,299) share a 230 × 170 cm footprint. Fairhaven Mini is reversible. Orrino has a lower seat, listed at 35 cm, a 15 cm headrest and a listed overall height of 70 to 85 cm. Hollingwood lists a 90 cm back height. Making a small room work with a sofa bed

  • Choose a light or mid-tone fabric if the room lacks daylight. It will feel less heavy than charcoal.
  • Use the storage for the bed's own kit first. Keep the duvet, pillows and a fitted sheet in the chaise so guests' bedding lives with the bed.
  • Pick a coffee table you can move easily, or a nesting set. Our coffee tables include several nesting designs.
  • Leave a small gap behind the sofa if it sits in front of a radiator, so heat can still reach the room.
  • Keep the wall above the chaise clear of low shelves, so the storage lid can lift fully.
  • Measure the way in, too. Tight stairs and narrow hallways are common in older homes. Our free delivery includes carrying the sofa into your chosen room, assembling it and taking the packaging away. It's still worth checking the route first with our guide to whether a corner sofa will fit through your door.

FAQs

What is the smallest corner sofa bed with storage at SOFGO?

When we checked on 25 September 2026, it was the Linden Bay, listed at 213 × 132 cm, followed by the Verity at 222 × 133 cm. Both are £779 as of 3 October 2026.

Will a corner sofa bed make my small room feel cramped?

Not if you pick the right shape. A shallow model keeps more floor clear, while a Mini corner uses less wall but reaches further into the room. Taping the outline on the floor for a day is the quickest way to find out.

Can a small corner sofa bed sleep two?

The product pages for these models describe a pull-out sleeping area for two adults. Sleeping areas on compact sofas are smaller than a standard double bed, so compare the listed size with your guests' height.

How much can I fit in the storage?

It depends on the model. The Goldcrest Mini lists a 130 × 90 × 41 cm compartment. Where a page doesn't give a size, ask us and we'll check.

How can I pay?

You can pay by card at checkout, or spread the cost with Klarna or Clearpay (subject to eligibility). Pay on delivery, by cash or bank transfer, is also available where the product page shows it. Whichever you choose, delivery to the UK mainland and assembly in your chosen room are free.

Tell us your room size and we'll help you choose. Send a message with your wall length, room depth and door positions, and our team will suggest the models that fit. Every order includes free UK mainland delivery and free assembly in the room of your choice.
